Fallout-Inspired Nuka Dark Rum Revealed

There’s no doubt that fans of Bethesda’s popular post-apocalyptic RPG IP are ready to try out the beta for the series’ next title, Fallout 76, so that they can get a feel for how the franchise’s first ever multiplayer online-only entry will play. However, since the testing period is set to go live next month, fans still have plenty of waiting to do. With this being the case, would-be Vault Dwellers and Wastelanders can at least make the wait a little more bearable by acquiring a new adult beverage inspired by the post-apocalyptic games called Nuka Dark Rum.

As indicated by the tweet below, Nuka Dark is a rum that was created from a partnership between Bethesda Softworks and Silver Screen Bottling Company, and Fallout fans who happen to be interested in the adult beverage can reserve bottles of it now. The product is expected to ship on Fallout 76‘s release date–that is, November 14, 2018–and alcohol aficionados should expect to spend $80 a pop.

For those unaware, the design of Nuka Dark Rum’s bottle takes its inspirations from the Nuka-Cola drinks that one would find while exploring in the irradiated Wastelands from the games in the Fallout franchise. As far as its contents are concerned, Nuka Dark Rum is available in one 750ml size, and is a 70-proof tropical rum that’s made with a mixture of different tastes, blending “flavors of molasses and vanilla with a distinct note of coconut on the nose”.

Surely Silver Screen Bottling Company’s take on Nuka-Cola should cause plenty of Fallout fans to snatch up cases of the stuff, if only to display the bottle alongside their collection of other memorabilia and paraphernalia related to the post-apocalyptic series. Of course, this isn’t the only beverage inspired by the franchise to have been crafted. For instance, Bethesda teamed up with Carlsburg UK several years back to release a licensed beer as a promotional tool to hype the release of Fallout 4, and Jones Soda Co. even made its own soft drink inspired by Nuka Cola Quantum.

The next entry in the Fallout franchise, Fallout 76, is set to release on November 14, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
