FIFA 19 Demo Now Out Now

Update: Sony’s status page now says the PlayStation Store servers should be running as normal, so you can play the FIFA 19 demo to your heart’s content. Original story follows.

FIFA 19’s demo release is always a highly anticipated moment in the gaming and football calendar. That day has arrived, with the trial now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC–but PSN’s servers are suffering from some poorly-timed connectivity issues.

Sony’s network service status page states the PlayStation Store is currently experiencing problems. “You may have some difficulty accessing features and products in PlayStation Store,” the company said. “Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.”

It’s unclear if the demo’s release and the server issues are connected. Sony says all other services should be operating as normal.

FIFA 19 launches worldwide on September 28 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch, as well as last-generation consoles. EA/Origin Access subscribers can play a 10-hour trial version eight days earlier, from September 20. Publisher EA recently revealed the game’s top 100 players–find out the ratings of all 100 players on the official EA Sports site.

FIFA’s main competitor, Pro Evolution Soccer, has been available for a little while now. See what we thought of Konami’s challenger in our PES 2019 review.
