Rumor: Bully 2 Casting Calls Released

report this adAbout a year ago, sources close to the video game developer Rockstar Games stated that Bully 2 would be the studio’s next project after Red Dead Redemption 2 has been finished and is officially out the door. Now, it looks as if yet another bit of scuttlebutt is making the rounds online potentially supporting the second entry’s existence, for it appears as if casting calls related to the sequel have been released by the casting director Jessica Jefferies.

Although the descriptions for the casting calls don’t explicitly state them being connected to Bully 2, seven different casting calls for the roles are described for a “new unannounced video game title with a leading UK games developer, shooting at Pinewood Studios.” The casting calls include some teenage and young roles, have placeholder names for the characters, and one character description actually comes with a content warning due to the project seeking an adolescent performer for the role in question:

“Mild violence and profanity will be used in scenes with the young performer. The project itself is a thriller/drama and all scenes with the young performer will be handled with sensitivity.”

According to Jeffries, the casting calls are for a “a major new #videogame coming soon”, but she stops short of stating its name, lest she accidentally out Bully 2 as Rockstar Games’ next project following Red Dead Redemption 2. Interestingly enough, one of the casting calls makes a direct mention of a character being a “college professor”, and another role is described as “a sophisticated, mature college student. With this being the case, if these casting calls are related to Bully 2, then perhaps the next game will be involved with higher learning and have a sprawling university campus as its setting.

Of course, with Rockstar having yet to even acknowledge that Bully 2 could be in the cards, there’s no telling if these casting calls are related to the title, or if the sequel will actually come to fruition. After all, with the original having come out more than 12 years ago, releasing a followup after such a lengthy amount of time could backfire due to the expectations built up around it. Nevertheless, we will simply have to wait and see if one of the most controversial video games gets a successor.

Bully 2 has yet to be officially announced.
