New Nvidia Ampere GPU to benefit local firms – Taipei Times

A graphics processing unit (GPU) upgrade by Nvidia Corp is expected to drive growth in the global gaming industry this year and benefit local firms with high exposure to the sector, Yuanta Securities Investment Consulting Co (元大投顧) said in a client note on Friday. The US chipmaker is to launch its new Ampere-based GPU in the second half of this year, leading to a rebound in demand for gaming GPUs and notebook computers after weaker-than-expected sales in the sector last year due to Nvidia digesting inventory, Yuanta said.   Source: Nvidia GPU to benefit local firms – Taipei Times

AMD’s CPU Market Share Not Near 40% | Digital Trends | Forbes

AMD’s CPU market share is growing, but it’s not at 40 percent yet.   While some reports might suggest as such, some suggest it’s closer to 30, while others still claim that AMD has lost almost as much as it’s gained in recent months. PassMark’s data points do show a significant increase in AMD CPUs running the benchmark, which suggests that more AMD CPUs have been bought by enthusiasts.
