Watch the first trailer for Black Ops 4’s battle royale mode, Blackout

Black Ops developer Treyarch is bringing the battle royale genre to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 later this year with Blackout, a franchise-first mode that will introduce the largest multiplayer map Call of Duty players have seen to date.

A new trailer for Blackout released today by Activision and Treyarch shows off what Black Ops 4 players can expect when the game hits PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One in October. Players will fight on familiar destinations like Nuketown, Hydro and Cargo, all connected by a massive map that will support dozens of players. As seen in the new trailer, players will be able to fight in air, on sea and on land — and against zombies.

Treyarch announced Blackout mode in May, during the official reveal of Black Ops 4. A first peek at the mode, featuring characters from Call of Duty’s Black Ops and Zombies franchises, dropped in July. And earlier this week, Treyarch offered a first look at Blackout’s map.

A beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode will kick off Sept. 10, first on PS4. The full game will be out Oct. 12.
