Fortnite forced to remove ’embarrassing’ moving breast animations after online backlash

Creators of Fortnite, Epic Games, faced online backlash after some users took issue with their detailed breast animations.

As part of their season six roll-out , a new character called “Calamity” was released with, well somewhat noticeable breasts, made more obvious by her “unintended” animation.

After having the issue pointed out on Twitter , Epic Games moved to fix the “issue”, calling it “embarrassing” and “unintended.”

The tweet, showing Calamity dancing with her chest jiggling extensively, has been retweeted by 4,000 people and liked 20,000 times.

This is not the first time video games have come under fire for sexualising their female characters, with both Metal Gear Solid V and the Tomb Raider series being heavily criticised.

Epic Games moved quickly to resolve the problem, and tweeted: “We have disabled elements of our animation system.

“This means you may see visual issues with some outfits. Thank you for your patience while we work through these issues!”

The company told The Verge: “This is unintended, embarrassing, and it was careless for us to let this ship. We are working now to fix this as soon as possible.”

Not everyone online was angry, and some saw the humour of the situation.

Fortnite season six started yesterday bringing with it a new theme, skins, and challenges .

Do you think Epic Games were right to remove the animation? Let us know in the comments below.
