The Shenmue I & II collection has issues. Sega is aware of them and promised on August 31, 2018 that a console version patch would arrive toward the end of the first week of September 2018. Now, that patch will be released the week of September 17, 2018. However, the PC patch has not been hit by any delays and is immediately available.
Sega made the announcement via its official Twitter account. It noted that the Shenmue I & II patch is not ready, but did not explain why. It also did not explain what the patch will fix.
Shenmue fans! Unfortunately the patch we planned on releasing this week isn’t ready yet and will instead be released on week commencing September 17th. We apologize for the delay but want to ensure you get the best game experience possible. We’ll have more updates soon!
